“Be grateful wherever you are”

I think a word “Intlupheko/Ukusokola” goes with levels.

Some people apply it when they don’t afford what people on their level have whereas some of us refer it as not having basic needs for human survival.

They do also apply this word when they don’t have what they used to have.

As long you have shelter to hide your head whether it’s a shark or one room then you better than someone who is sleeping under the bridge

.As long you have a job that pays you peanuts  then you are better than someone who cannot notice whether a month starts or ends.

As long you eat isqa rice everyday then you are better than someone who is sleeping with empty stomach.

As long you afford to buy yourself cheap clothes then you are better than someone who is waiting for handouts.

In a nutshell, your situation is not bad as you think other than you don’t appreciate the little things you have. There are people who really need what you complaining about.

“Be grateful wherever you are”

We need women that will change the status quo in terms of what women can achieve

There is an overused word that is used to describe a strong woman and it makes some of us bear the unbearable pain because we all want to be called “imbokodo”.

We grew in a society where we saw our mothers & grandmothers being restricted in doing certain things because of gender stereotypes that women are less valued & have lower social status .

We grew seeing our mothers couldn’t work for themselves because their job was to look after kids. Our mothers were being forced to marry with people whom they didn’t know as to maintain the dignity of their parents that at least intombi yabo iboniwe

We need people who will encourage young woman to stop sacrificing by their lives. We are suffering with depressions because we think life revolves around man.We are suffering with both emotional and physical abuse because we are faking to be happy.

Our young sisters are committing suicide everyday because they were abused at an early stage
.We hide those who abuse us because we want to appear as a happy couple in social media.

We go around looking for a man with nice car because we can’t dream ourselves owning those cars.We are dating old men (ama blessa) because we cannot sell fruit on the street and yet we want to be slay queens.

We marry wrong people because we want to say our relationships lasted  to a point of marriage. We are running after dad babies because we can’t feed our own flash & blood alone. We act to be having good hearts and yet we are pleading by our happiness.

We are faking to be good stepmothers because we want to be seem as a wife material. We obey things that we don’t like because we want to be seem perfect. We want the easiest life and yet we don’t want to sweat.

We are human beings,we are capable of doing anything. We can work for ourselves,we have life after breakups, divorce and whatsoever. We can grow the well-disciplined children alone,we can drop and pick ourselves by our fancy cars.We have the ability to build homes for our fatherless children.

How useful is the Internet?

Everyone has an access to the Internet. Some people are using it unlawfully.Nowadays there are many scams and hackers. Many businesses are using bait & switch. But internet is a useful tool for those who are using it in a good way.

* Job application

There are few job posts that require people to send their CVs through postal address. We often use email address to send them and it is easy and fast. You send your CV at a lowest price with faster speed other than postal address that takes 7 days to reach its destination.Even if you received a job post midnight you can also apply any time as you do not have to go to post office.Internet do also saves time and money .By mentioning money I also include the travelling fee.Yes we buy internet data bundle but email address does not consume too much internet data bundle. You can also forward one CV to multiple companies whereas postal address requires you to create a new CV for each job post that you want to apply to.Internet also helped us in creating our profiles and upload our CVs to different career portals that make it easier for recruiters to reach us

What would the world be without Technology?

Looking back on how we lived our lives is giving me a good imagination of how the world would be without Technology.Technology advances everyday, however it gives us challenges. It also made life easier & fast.

*Social Life

Imagine of yourself without your smartphone that you are having today.Technology made connection between people of different locations. It helped us get in touch with our families through electronic media of communications, get connected with our long lost friends. We even do online shopping while we sleeping on our beds,we order online and get our goods delivered at our places(e-commerce).We perform online banking ,there is no need to waste time going to the long queues. We also make use of Uber/Taxify  which makes us get rides in few minutes instead of standing for 3 hours waiting for the taxi you don’t know whether it is coming or not. There is a lot to mention in social life

*Education

Students are now preparing their assignments online.Doing presentations using slides and also make use of the search engines to do their research. They also use the soft copy textbooks instead of carrying heavy books, using their flash drives to keep their work safe (e-Learning).

*Workplace

Computer is the most common resource in many companies. It  makes business operations more productive.Managers are keeping track of progress during every completion of each goal.Even the cost of a company can be reduced hence many companies are using SaaS tools.T here are many softwares that companies use to keep record of day-to-day operations.

In a nutshell, without Technology our world would not be interesting and it would be dying slowly. Our great-grandparents survived in the manufacturing processes which was the first industrial revolution but the youth of today could fail to use hand tools or basic machines because we always claim to have a freedom so we are too careful to be suppressed in a way that we want easy things.Nowadays I don’t see life without Technology. It would be like we are living in a dark world  where we don’t see our destinations.

Life will not always favours you.Wait for your time

I am Simamkele Madlangati and as the cliche goes “born and bred ” in the dusty streets of the small town called Centane.I am fortunate enough to be raised by a powerful woman whom I have a privillege to call her mom.I studied to the most underprivileged schools started from primary until I completed high school .I grew with a dream of becoming a teacher not because I liked it but because I was not familiar with other careers .I struggled to get admitted to the institutions of the higher education.I sat at home for almost two years after being matriculated, I was hopeless and saw my life having no direction. After some years I got admitted to Walter Sisulu University.I applied for teaching course but unfortunately there was no space, that is where I got a chance to be admitted in Information technology (I.T) .I knew nothing about Information Technology,I only had a little understanding that it is about computers .From my first year I passed my modules very well.I started to develop a lot of interest in I.T to an extent that I always feel like getting connected with I.T experts or running programs everyday .To summarize all I have written above ,I have learned that life will not always favours you and everything has its own time all you need is to just wait for the right time but consider what you are doing while you still waiting for the right time because it might be a path to your destination.I would also like to encourage my little brothers and sisters to choose a career wisely,I am trying to clarify a point that it is very important to do what you are passionate about because you could easily see and create opportunities once it becomes a hobby

Q.What defines me as a woman

A.I am a mother, wife and also a student.I am aperson who always works hard regardless of the circumstances but I always give the best of myself. Most importantly I am a person who always ensure that I use every hour of a day building myself and that is where I find my strengths. Some people find it difficult to interact with me because I am always busy with my phone trying to create something or engage myself with online courses.Sometimes I don’t have time to socialize because I’m a very busy person. So what is actually defining me is that “I am the worst enemy of time” I grab every second and make it productive. I believe in making something out of nothing with the “I can” attitude that is leading me.I have learned to be at my own ,do my own things without involving people because I found that I fail to achieve my goal once a share it with someone as I’m always getting discouraging views from people who close to me .I am a very curious person,I always engage myself with many activities . Sometimes I feel like I’m overusing myself.
